Well, what the tech support of various companies (and specifically the large corporations with their quickly trained technicians in India or other developing countries) do not tell you is that this intel wireless card will under NO CIRCUMSTANCE run at 300Mbps, if you have a wireless router which runs at 2.4Ghz or less.

If you sincerely want to operate this wirless card at 300Mbps, then you have to buy the new 5Ghz wireless access points - around $ 100 for netgear (and connected to your existing wired router) or get a new 5Ghz wireless router - around $ 289 (not worh spending this much - just buy the access point) and it will do the trick.
